The Infant Rites in the Catholic Church refer to the Rite of Baptism for infants, which is a ceremony designed specifically for babies and young children not yet of catechetical age, typically considered to be under the age of 7 or 8. This rite is distinct from the baptism of older children or adults as part of the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) or its adaptation for children of catechetical age (OCIC).
