Reverend Charles J. Matonti,

Died On: March 31, 2025

Most Reverend Robert J. Brennan, Bishop of Brooklyn, regrets to inform you of the death of Reverend Charles J. Matonti, a retired priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn. Father Matonti was born on January 1, 1935 in New York, was ordained to the Priesthood on May 28, 1960, and died Monday, March 31, 2025.

Father Matonti served the Diocese of Brooklyn as Pastor of the Parish of Saint Columba (Brooklyn) and as Parochial Vicar of the Parish of Saint Frances de Chantal (Brooklyn).

He also served as Faculty at Cathedral College (Douglaston) and Saint John’s University (Jamaica).
