Reverend Matteo J. Rizzo

Died On: March 20, 2025

Most Reverend Robert J. Brennan, Bishop of Brooklyn, regrets to inform you of the death of Reverend Matteo J. Rizzo, a retired priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn. Father Rizzo was born on January 10, 1947 in New York, was ordained to the Priesthood on May 26,1973 and died Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Father Rizzo served the Diocese of Brooklyn as Pastor of the Parishes of Saint Francis de Paola (Brooklyn), Our Lady of Guadalupe (Brooklyn), and Saint Jude (Brooklyn). He also served as Parochial Vicar of the Parishes of Holy Family (Brooklyn), Saint Columba (Brooklyn), Saint Anastasia (Douglaston), Saint Ephrem (Brooklyn), Saint Brigid (Brooklyn), and Saint Anthony of Padua (South Ozone Park). He was in residence at the Parish of Saint Anastasia (Douglaston).
